Events To Add To Your Calendar In 2018

2018 is now here which means it’s time to look to the year ahead and all the opportunities it presents. With this in mind, we like to kick off every January by planning our events schedule and checking out the biggest and best trade shows in the industry calendar. Here are just a handful of favourites from our agenda so far – featuring events from London to California!

1.    PLASA Shows
PLASA, the leading international trade association for live entertainment technology, organises 3 shows per year focusing on presenting the most ground-breaking tech and new products from leading global brands to an international audience of pro audio, lighting, broadcast, AV and stage technology experts. Being PLASA members ourselves, we are big advocates of the organisation’s various events and encourage any industry professional to check out a show in 2018 for unparalleled access to amazing innovations, live demos, workshops and networking opportunities. The flagship show is at Olympia London, but you can next catch the PLASA action in Glasgow this 17th-18th of January.

2.    The Event Production Show
Another juggernaut of a trade show held at Olympia London, the Event Production Show is the self-proclaimed ‘leading event for the UK’s live event sector’. From previous exhibiting experience, Flightcase Warehouse can confirm EPS certainly lives up to this claim. It treats visitors to cutting edge technology demonstrations, informative keynotes from some of the most creative thinkers in the entertainment tech and live events industries and inspires new ways of looking at events in modern environments. A high footfall matched with delegates who care passionately about what they do makes EPS an essential event on your 2018 trade show calendar. This year it runs from 28th February-1st March.

3.    Musikmesse

Casting our net slightly wider to the European continent, we look to Germany’s Musikmesse – one of the most important annual events in music. Musikmesse specialises in music production and instruments and is a true stalwart in the musical trade show world alongside NAMM (Anaheim, USA). The show itself stages over 1000 sub-events over its running course including artist spotlights, exhibitor demonstrations and technology showcases – covering a breath-taking floor space. This year Flightcase Warehouse is proud sponsor of the mondo*dr awards which will be held during Musikmesse. Musikmesse takes place from the 11th-14th April, in Frankfurt Germany.

4.    NAMM

Unless you’ve already got your ticket and booked flights to sunny California, you probably won’t be able to visit NAMM 2018 which is held this January 25th-28th in Anaheim, USA. However, we couldn’t complete this list without shining a spotlight on what is arguably the biggest and most famous show in the music, sound and event technology community. The NAMM show features the latest products from more than 7,000 brands, industry education, special events, concerts and one-off experiences. The trade show has a great ethos – to promote the pleasures and benefits of making music – which we really admire.
